A Scary Story

your crypt keeper, Suzanne

Perhaps you've hit that mid-October slump.  You know...the point where the new has worn off and the holidays are too far away.  One easy way to reenergize your classroom is to embrace the seasonal hoopla.

You can check out some spine-tingling ideas here.  But today we wanted to bring you some pumpkin-inspired prompts:

Personal Narrative

Expository

Persuasive
To keep the seasonal flair alive, have students share their writing in groups of 3-4.  Each group will select one reader to share with the class.  For this whole-group setting, turn off the lights and provide a flashlight to the reader so that they can uplight their face.

Looking for more prompts? Check out our expository and persuasive packs.
